not much new news...

This is a Zebrahead Call To Arms:

All of your radio stations should now have the 'I hate XMAS' CD in their possession. It has already been spun more than 50 times around the nation WITHOUT REQUESTS.

What we need is for all of you, as loyal zebrahead fanatics, to call, email, fax, whatever your local radio stations and request this song. Do this until your fingers hurt from dialing the phone. Please! If you'd like to hear this song put into regular rotation, we're going to have to start requesting it (and Christmas is a-comin' soon).

If they give you a 'we don't have that CD,' speech . . . tell them to look harder!

I'll keep you updated with number of spins on the webpage every week. If we can increase the number over the next few weeks, I'm going to put a lot of these CDs up for grabs on the webpage.

Please guys (especially the street teamers), do this . . . we need your help!!

Steve and the ZH crew.

Not much new news . . . just a few things to update you on:
Zebrahead's new single 'I hate Christmas' should be at your radio station by the end of the week. Make sure you call up and request this song, you all will love it! Many people have asked, and it WILL NOT be for sale in stores. It may be on a compliation album available in stores, but that is still undetermined at this time. As soon as I get my copy (within the next few days), I'll have an entire MP3 of the song up so you all can hear it. Just a little hint for you all . . . although you can't buy this single in stores, it PROBABLY will be avaiable on a CD in the near future . . . so you all WILL be able to own this song. That's all I can really say right now, but the band BEGS you to not get ripped off by people selling this CD @ ebay (it's gone for about 30 dollars for sale there). You will be able to own this song eventually, so don't get ripped off. And as I said, I'll have the ENTIRE song up on this webpage soon, so hold your horses . . . we're all anxious for new stuff :)

Zebrahead also began preproduction of their new album this week. Actually recording won't start until late December or early Janurary. I've heard a lot of the raw songs (without vocals) and I'm telling you that this shit will rock your ass off. You WILL NOT be dissapointed by their new album!

Keep it tuned here for the latest news from the ZH crew.

2 Quick newsworth notes:

1) Zebrahead has a new single coming out in time for the holiday's. It's called 'deck the halls/I hate christmas.' I heard it while I was in Cali visiting them and it's GREAT (so damn funny)!! Kurlee makes his singing debut, and it should be making it's way to your radio stations in time for the holidays. As soon as the guys get it on CD, I'll be getting a copy and I'll put the .mp3 up on the webpage! So keep it here for the details!

2) Ben will be appearing for a chat @ www.loudside.com on Sunday November 14th @ 3:00 PM PACIFIC TIME! Make sure you all go there with great questions and show your support!!

Zebrahead cancelled their tour with the Kottonmouth Kings (as most of you already know), and are now in the studio writing new songs for the next album. There are about 11 songs written right now but the band is looking for about 50 so they can take the best ones for the next record. Don't expect any shows right now, but don't be suprised if the band shows up somewhere in the spring. Until then, just relax and cuddle with "Waste of Mind," learn all the lyrics if you haven't already, tell some friends about it, write reviews about it in your school newspaper...etc!!

Thanks guys, more news from the studio when there is some!

Sorry about the lack of news updates!! I know I'm leaving a bunch of stuff out . . . I'll add more as I remember it!

The warped tour went amazingly well. Zebrahead would like to thank all the new fans they made there, as well as all of the old fans who came out to support them. The expressed to me how great the fan response was, and how great those of you were that went up and met with them during the days on tour.

If any of you went to the warped tour, you noticed that Ali was on crutches most of the time. Aside from the rumors that were spread on the BBS, the REAL story is that he was playing basketball with the 'black eyed peas' and hurt himself. This didn't stop him or the band from giving the usual amazing performance on stage (Ali just couldn't jump around as much as he usually does)!

Right now zebrahead is on tour with the kottonmouth kings . For those of you who haven't heard of them, you should check them out. For those of you who DO know them . . . you'll know that zebrahead will be doing a lot of . . . uh . . . 'partying' on tour with them. The dates of this tour are up in the tour section . . . go check them out if they are coming to your city!!

The last I heard from the band is that the KMK tour will be the last major tour before they start recording again. The band has been working on new material while on the road and, from what I've heard, it's even better than the old stuff!! I will keep you posted about the new record whenever I get more info!

'Someday' is the new single. Please call your local radio station and request it!!

Zebrahead appeared on a TV special called 'break this' where they and limp bizkit were the two featured bands. This show featured an interview with Goldtoof and Ali, live video clips, as well as the entire get back video. If you can get your hands on this video, do it. It's GREAT!!

Lastly, to the street team. Sorry about the slacking on packages and updates. I think we have our shit together now. ALL of you should have received a signed picture, a letter, as well as a radio station listing that has 'someday' in their rotation. If you didn't receive this, email me and I'll make sure you get one. The street team will be MUCH, MUCH better in the coming months!

New single should be out soon.

The guys are sorry they had to cancel a few shows last week. Goldtoof was sick with a HORRIBLE feaver and had to go to the hospital. Everything is better now though!

That's about all I can think of. More news soon!

"Get back" was heard on total request live on friday. Not in the countdown unfortunately, but they were in the background when carson was talking. Word from the zebrahead camp is that the reel big fish shows are going VERY well. Much of the crowd is there to see zebrahead, and those who have never heard zebrahead before are quickly catching on. They say 'whazzzup' to everybody and that they haven't checked their email in a few days and they are sorry.

That's it for now folks. More pics, tabs, and other great stuff coming to this page within the next few days...keep checking back!!

1/8/99

On the Modern Rock Tracks chart, "get back" moved from 37 to 34 with a bullet (indicates a significant increase in spins over last week).

On the Heatseekers chart (albums by new artists yet to break into the top 100 of the Top 200 chart), _waste of mind_ re-entered at 49, bulleted (indicates a significant increase in sales over last week), with 3,382 units reported sold the week ending 1/4.

(Thanks to Greck for above chart info)

Let's see...where to begin. The sprug monkey tour went VERY well...a ton of ppl to see zebrahead and sprung.

Goldfinger cancled on the Janurary tour, but Zebrahead are continuing with most of the old dates...you can get up to the minute tour info here !

30,000 and counting on the album sales...DAMNNN!

3 HUGE magazines feature zebrahead this month. 'Guitar world' has an article on ZH (John Lenon on the cover), 'Guitar' has another article (phish on the cover), and dopest of all...Rolling Stone features an article with KoRn's drummer David Silverra who mentions Zebrahead's 'Waste of Mind' as his #2 Favorite album of the year!!!

The boys are maxin and relaxin before the next tour...Goldtoof is spending time snowboardin w/ his girlfriend...and the rest of the crew is back home chillin'.

The New Year's eve show @ 369 went off great. Zebrahead played to a packed house full of regulars and also new fans!! They didn't get much time to celebrate the new year themselves though, as they didn't get out of the club until 3:00 AM that night!!

Ben busted up his hand skateboarding on Christmas eve...but nothing is broken...it's all good (and he can still play).

Zebrahead is M2's "pick of the week" this week with their video for 'get back'!!
